This recipe contains no honey and no soy sauce, however the honey-soy flavour is definitely there!

HONEY SOY TOFU

Ingredients

  • 1 CUP COCONUT AMINOS
  • 1/2 CUP RICE MALT SYRUP
  • 2 TSP MINCED GARLIC
  • 1 TSP MINCED GINGER
  • 1 BLOCK EXTRA FIRM TOFU

Instructions

  1. SLICE THE TOFU IN TO BITE SIZED CUBES.

  2. ADD ALL OF THE OTHER INGREDIENTS TO A BOWL AND WHISK UNTIL WELL COMBINED.

  3. PLACE THE MARINADE AND THE TOFU IN TO A BOWL AND COAT THE TOFU WELL. COVER THE BOWL AND LET SIT IN THE REFRIGERATOR FOR A MINIMUM OF 2 HOURS.

  4. PREHEAT THE OVEN FOR 15 MINUTES AT 200 DEGREES CELSIUS

  5. ONCE THE TOFU HAS BEEN MARINATING FOR A FEW HOURS, REMOVE THE TOFU FROM THE MARINADE USING A SLOTTED SPOON AND PLACE THE TOFU ON A BAKING TRAY LINED WITH PARCHMENT PAPER.

  6. BAKE THE TOFU FOR 15-20 MINUTES, SERVE IMMEDIATELY.

  7. USE THE MARINADE THAT'S LEFT OVER AS A SAUCE. HEAT UP THE SAUCE IN A SAUCEPAN ON THE STOVE 5 MINUTES BEFORE SERVING THE TOFU.

  8. SERVING SUGGESTION: RICE AND STEAMED VEGETABLES
